The Concrete Producer's Challenge
Each year, The Concrete Producer magazine hosts competitions at the World of Concrete that allow contestants to demonstrate their operating and safety knowledge of front-end loaders and trucks. Contestants push their skills to be the best while being cheered on from the large audience watching the multi-day challenges.
The Load America Competition
Pre-certified drivers test their operating and safety skills by manipulating four-wheel drive loaders through a series of obstacles. Contestants are judged on how quickly, safely and accurately they can complete the course. The course will consist of a ball drop, figure 8 drive, stopline, rearstop, parallel parking and spotting the loader.
Truck Safety Competition
Contestants test their operating and safety skills by driving ready mix trucks through a challenging obstacle course. Contestants are judged on how quickly, safely and accurately they can complete the course. Driving course with seven different challenges and maneuvers including vehicle inspection, parallel parking, alley stop, turning radius, and stop line. The competition also consists of a safety contest using selected tasks as approved by a development team and the editorial advisory council.
Artistry in Decorative Concrete
The annual live event at World of Concrete is recognized as the decorative concrete industry's top live event as well as the destination for WOC attendees. Leading artisans demonstrate the most innovative decorative concrete applications and techniques as well as basic fundamentals.
Hoover Dam Bypass Tour
The tour will include a trip to the construction site and to the Hoover Dam Visitor's Center in Boulder City, NV. A special below-the-dam tour will be included. Representatives discuss the concrete admixtures used in the project's mix designs, self-consolidating concrete and on the site's history.
Excavator Operator's Precision Challenge
In this event, sponsored-qualified participants will show their skill by demonstrating how an excavator can be used to expertly work in a tight area and be used to increase jobsite productivity. Equipment operators, whose work often goes unseen after the job is finished, will have the opportunity to prove their expertise, and compete for the title of Best Precision Excavator Operator.
Women In Concrete Luncheon and Forum
A sellout every year, this exclusive two-hour program brings together women working in all segments of the concrete construction industry. It provides a unique opportunity to build a community and gain insight into the challenges specific to women in the industry.
GREENSITE Luncheon and Forum
The event honors outstanding eco-friendly projects on the concrete side of sustainability. Last year's inaugural event brought together almost 100 contractors, producers and architects. The luncheon will recognize all GREENSITE winners and announce the GREENSITE project of the year, in conjunction with the GREENSITE exhibit at World of Concrete.
